Design by Arne Jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen is considered a master of Danish modernism.
Educated at the School of Architecture of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Jacobsen helped define the founding principles of Danish Modernism with his uncluttered aesthetic and robust craftsmanship. One of his most celebrated works is the SAS Royal Hotel, which he designed in 1960. Now known as the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Jacobsen designed every detail of the space; from the sculptural furniture, such as his elegant Swan™ and Egg™ chairs, to the light fixtures, textiles, ashtrays and cutlery.

As an architect and industrial designer, Jacobsen strived to achieve grace and cohesion in all of his creations—a desire that led him to create radically simplified designs with inherent beauty.
